ICMR Celebrates its Centenary Year Commemorative Postage Stamp Release Marks the Occasion
Releasing a commemorative postage stamp to mark the centenary year of ICMR, the Minister of Human Resources Development, Communication & Information Technology, Sh. Kapil Sibal said Medical research, health and the economy are intrinsically linked. “Medical research has contributed to dramatic decreases in mortality rates, increased survival rates, new medications, vaccines to protect against infectious diseases, and many other advances in medicine. This in turn has made a positive impact on the quality and quantity of human capital in promoting economic growth” he elaborated. Shri Sibal said that in the light of the immense contributions made by ICMR towards a healthier India, the Department of Posts deemed it fit to honor ICMR by releasing the 45th commemorative postage stamp of 2011 on ICMR.
