There was a Postcrossing meet at Bangalore. The Postcrossing meet-up was organized on the occasion of Martyr's Day.

History and Significance

On March 23, 1931, a trio of Bhagat Singh, Shivaram Rajguru, and Sukhdev Thapar lost their lives during the struggle for India's independence and that day in history is celebrated as Martyrs' Day.

Celebrate Nature - Meetup



Postcrossing Society of India under the aegis of India Post organized a Postcrossing Meetup on Celebrate Nature to celebrate World Sparrow Day, World Water Day & World Forestry Day at the Meghdoot Auditorium, Bengaluru GPO yesterday 25.03.23. The Chief Guest for the event was The Chief Postmaster General of Karnataka Postal Circle. A Postcrossing Meetup Postcard and a Special Pictorial Cancellation were released on the occasion.

Ms. Priya Venkatesh a traveler and Naturalist gave a very interesting talk on Natural History. Mr. Prasad Natarajan,  Eminent Artist gave a Live Art Demo. It was a very well-organized and interesting event by the Postcrossing Society of India (PSO)

Karnataka Postal Circle issued a special cancellation on  ' World Water Day'  which is observed on 22 March. This cancellation also includes " Ugadi Greetings' . The New Year ( UGADI) according to Hindu Calendar begins today....

21 March - International Day of Forests


International Day of Forests is observed on March 21st annually to spread awareness about the importance of all types of forests. The theme for 2023 is "Forests and health.” A special cancellation was issued by Karnataka Postal Circle on World Forestry Day.

 KTK-71-2022 - Rashtriya Military School, Belgaum (Belagavi)

Rashtriya Military School, Belgaum is one amongst the five Military Schools in India. It was established in 1945 at Belgaum cantonment as KGRIMC after the Second World War. In 1952, these schools became the founder members of the Indian Public School's Conference (IPSC). The school was renamed as King George School and in 1963 the School was affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi and the students switched over to the Higher Secondary Examination conducted by the Board. The school was renamed as 'Belgaum Military School' on 1- January 1966. In January 1998 the prefix 'Belgaum' was dropped and the school was re-designated as 'Military School, Belgaum' and finally in June 2007 as Rashtriya Military School, Belgaum. "The aim of Military Schools is to impart quality education and prepare cadets to join the Defence Services". The cadets who have passed out have risen to the ranks of Generals, Air Marshals, Admirals, and Senior Government Officers.

MCOPS has been ranked 9'" among Pharmacy Institutions in 2022 by NIAF, MHAD, Govt. of India. This special cover is being released to celebrate 60 years of MCOPS.

Gadag Zoo -Golden Jubilee : 5 January 2023

Binkadakatti Zoo popularly known as Gadag Zoo was established in the year 1972 with the active support of the then Forest Minister, Late Shri K. H. Patil in an area of 40 acres. Gadag Zoo supports 38 species of mammals, reptiles & birds, which include the 3 Big cat species Tiger, Asiatic lion and Leopard. Increased awareness in nature and wildlife conservation amongst the public has made zoos popular educational centres. It is the second Zoo in Karnataka to celebrate its Golden Jubilee after Chamrajendra Zoological Gardens Mysuru.
