Giant Pandas on new stamps by Malaysia Post
International Cooperative Project On Giant Panda
Here are two beautiful stamps featuring cute giant pandas. Malaysia Post released a set of two stamps with a souvenir sheet to support International Cooperative Project On Giant Panda. today on 25th of February 2015.
Despite their exalted status and relative lack of natural predators, pandas are endangered. Severe threats from humans have left fewer than 1,600 pandas in the wild, according to a 2004 survey. A census of the wild panda population is undertaken every 10 years.
With support from the Chinese government and guidance from national and provincial leaders, the Chengdu Panda Base has launched the “International Long ‒ term Cooperative Project of Giant Panda Breeding”. This collaborative research effort focuses on giant panda breeding, ethology, protection, and education jointly with Japan, the United States, Spain, and France.
15 successfully ‒ bred giant pandas resulted from this work, the largest number of panda cubs produced through international cooperative projects in giant panda breeding to date.

New stamps on Bridge
Malaysia Post has issued its special stamp depicting the Sultan Abdul Halim Mu Adzam Shah Bridge. The issue consists of two stamps that were put into circulation on the 31st of December.
The Sultan Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah Bridge or Penang Second Bridge is a dual carriageway toll bridge in Penang, Malaysia. It connects Bandar Cassia (Batu Kawan) in Seberang Perai on mainland Peninsular Malaysia with Batu Maung on Penang Island.
It is the second bridge to link the island to the mainland after the first Penang Bridge. The total length of the bridge is 24 km (15 mi) with length over water at 16.9 km (10.5 mi), making it the longest bridge in Malaysia and the longest in Southeast Asia.
Construction actually started in November 2008. To reduce the cost of construction, its design was then modified to resemble the first cable stayed Penang Bridge. The bridge has been built with a large loan from the People’s Republic of China to continue and maintain the economic relationship between China and Malaysia. The bridge was officially opened on 1 March 2014 and was named after the fourteen Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Tuanku Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah of Kedah.

Malaysia 2014 – A report
Malaysia 2014
- A report by Prof. Sahadeva Sahoo, Commissioner for India
Malaysia 2014 was a composite exhibition of two divisions -‘World Youth Stamp Exhibition’ and ‘29th Asian International Stamp Exhibition’- held at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Hall 1 & 2 from 1 December to 6 December 2014, the first was under auspices of FIP and the second with patronage of FIAP. There were 455 frames in World Youth and 238 frames in FIAP divisions. World Youth division included general i.e., open classes on three categories of Thematic Philately viz.,Nature (92), Culture (96 frames) and Technology (87 frames) as well as Modern Philately (26 frames). Thus the World Youth exhibition was partly General World Exhibition. Taken together the whole exhibition was comparable to a larger Indian State level exhibition. Another aspect was conspicuous that there was no involvement of the customs authorities in receipt and return of exhibits – a fact which made Malaysia 2014 unique and it remains to be seen if any other country follows this system and if any other government closes its eyes to the system of temporary export of collections having items requiring items more than 100 years old.
As the national commissioner I had difficulties in getting higher medal winning entries as the expenditure in obtaining ASI clearance and subsequent Insurance charges were prohibitive. Nevertheless I could get application for 22 entries in time but the organizers for reasons of paucity of space reduced to 11 entries besides not accepting one vermeil medal winning entry on ground of Malaysian law. No entries went without any award. Trouble was greater as the Organisers depended on paperless internet correspondences which restricted entries to computer-savvy candidates.
