From Nov. 2– 4, 2012, Mainz – the city of the Man of the Millennium Johannes Gutenberg – is hosting an International Philatelic Literature Exhibition (IPHLA). It continues the reputed name of the well-known IPHLA, which under this label took place for the first time in Frankfurt-on-Main in 1989.

Exactly 150 years before 2012, the first German stamp album and the first philatelic catalogue were published in the city of Leipzig. These two print media of German philately opened an era that made stamp collecting a popular movement.

Just like the two preceding literature exhibitions of 1989 in Frankfurt and 2007 in Leipzig, IPHLA 2012 Mainz will be an international meeting.

The German Philatelic Federation BDPh e.V. is the host and invites all authors of study groups, small and big publishers, literature dealers and libraries to take part in this philatelic literature exhibition of 2012 as an exhibitor, dealer or sponsor.

An Exhibit by Pradeep Kumar Malik, Patna

Hi ! For today’s Post I have selected an exhibit on a beautiful city of Europe, Vilnius. This exhibit has been prepared by Mr Pradeep Kumar Malik of Patna, India. The collection was displayed in the recent One Frame National Exhibition Stampmania –2009 held at Vadodara. The theme of the exhibit is best suitable for display in a one frame exhibition as a single city has been taken as a subject of the collection and the whole city has been described through a variety of philatelic items. I am sure this exhibit will be liked by the visitors of Europe, India  and other parts of the world. It is a guideline for the collectors to choose specific themes when participating  One  Frame Class. The subjects which can be easily described in more than one frame are not usually appreciated by the members of jury but are rather downgraded for their wrong theme chosen. So some exhibits which have very good philatelic items are not awarded higher awards but are judged as average exhibits. This is the basic difference between a One Frame Exhibit Class and the other classes. The theme of one frame exhibit must be compact and difficult to be described in more than one frame. As I personally viewed this exhibit at Stampmania 2009 and liked the theme very much so decided to share this beautiful exhibit with the readers round the globe. This is all for today….Till Next Post….Have a Great Time !!
