Dr. Sushila Chaurasia was the first lady officer in the Department of Posts to head a Postal Circle, as Post Master General, Madhya Pradesh Circle from 01-06-1 981 to 30-11-1 982. She was born in Bijapur in Karnataka and joined the Department of Posts in 1948. Apart from an illustrious career in the Department of Posts, she was a pioneer in Women's Education and assisted in the establishment of Hawabag Women's College in Jabalpur. Karnataka Postal Circle celebrates National Postal Week 2022 by releasing this special cover.

It was in 1973, that a group of avid golfers from Karnataka, embarked on a mission of identifying Bangalore as the golfing capital of South India. Karnataka Golf Association was Registered on 03 September 1973. The search for a suitable site for an international standard golf course started in earnest and in May 1980, the then Chief Minister of Karnataka, Shri R. Gundu Rao personally took the initiative to hand over 125 acres of land in Challaghatta to the Karnataka Golf Association. Centenary year celebration of Sarvajanika Mangaluru Shree Sharada Mahotsava
Traditionally Saraswati Pooja was performed during Navratri to the manuscripts and books at Sri Acharya Math, in the premises of Sri Venkataramana Temple, at Car Street in Mangaluru. This was transformed into Shree Sharada Mahotsava, a century ago, with the objective of uniting citizens of Dakshina Kannada district during the freedom movement. In this grand public event, statue of Saraswati in clay is worshipped. This special cover is released on 26-09-2022 to commemorate the centenary of Mangaluru Sharada Mahotsava.
