Special Cover - KTK-86-2020 - 70th Anniversary of Constitution Day

Constitution Day,  also known as "Samvidhan Divas', is celebrated in our country on 26th November every year to commemorate the adoption of 'the Constitution of India. On 26th November 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India adopted the Constitution of India, which came into effect from 26th January 1950. On 19th November. 2015, the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment notified the decision of the Government of India to celebrate the 26th day of November every year as 'Constitution Day'. lt is the longest written constitution in the world containing 395 Articles. 22 Parts and 12 Schedules. This special cover was 
released to commemorate Constitution Day. (Cover Illustration: The original preamble) .

The National Family Welfare Programme was launched in India in1952. No-Scalpel Technique was introduced in India in 1992 to Increase male participation in family planning. This is an easier, safest and faster procedure and causes minimal damage to tissues and it is a permanent method of Male Sterilization.This special cover was released to commemorate the 'Vasectomy Fortnight Awareness Programme' from 21st Nov. to 4th Dec.

With profound grief and sorrow, this is to inform our Readers that the renowned philatelist of Ahmedabad Shri Dhananjay Desai passed away today. He served as National Commissioner and jury member in many international philatelic exhibitions. He won many awards at national and international shows. He was the founder of GPA ( Gujarat Philatelist's Association). His demise is a great loss to Indian philately. 

Our Heartfelt Condolences.....May his soul Rest in Peace ...

150 Year Old Heritage Building of Bellari Railway Station

Special Cover - KTK-56-2020 - 150 Year Old Heritage Building of Bellari Railway Station

The foundation stone for Ballari Railway station was laid in 1869. It was then a part of Southern Mahratta Railway Company headquartered at Dharwad. This imposing structure was designed broadly in the Romanesque-italianate style with a symmetrical design composed of round arches, thick walls and large towers. This 150 year old heritage station is now part of South Western Railway. This special cover was released on the occasion of inauguration of the Railway Heritage Museum at Hubballi.
