India's Veteran Philatelist Shri Dhirubhai Mehta left for heavenly abode on 9th August 2020a t Mumbai. He was 95 years old. Jainism Philately Group honoured him with lifetime achievement award on 20 December 2019 during last National Philatelic Exhibition INPEX 2019, Mumbai for his great services to the Indian Philately.

Dhirubhai Mehta was promoting Philately in small cities
My hometown Satna is a small city of M. P. We were organizing Philatelic Exhibitions at Satna since,1976. In the year 1981, I had written to Shri Dhirubhai Mehta for attending our exhibition as a Jury member. He was not knowing me, but to promote Philately and to encourage stamp collectors in the small cities, he had accepted my invitation and reached Satna with Late Smt. Kusumben Mehta without any financial obligation. Same repeated in the year 1985 again. Late Shri Dilip Shah was also present in both these exhibitions.
I am sharing two photographs of these exhibitions in which Shri Dhirubhai is addressing and Shri Dilip Shah is sitting on the stage.
