Sri Kanakagiri Athishaya Mahothsava - 2017 : 2 Feb 2017

Sri Kshetra Kanakagiri, surrounded by a fort, is a holy Jain Centre and Stone edicts and basadis (Jain shrines) dating back to 11th Century AD are found here. It has the Nishadi Caves, Sarnadhi Mantapas, inscriptions and footprints from ancient times. Sri Kshetra Kanakagiri is also known as Nakopama Shaila, meaning heaven's crest. The ancient name for this piligrim center was 'Suvarnagiri'. Located near Maleyur in Chamarajanagar District in Karnataka, the area is home to dense forests with sandalwood trees.

A Special cover on Badri Tulsi was released today by Governor of , Uttarakhand Dr. KK Paul, , during Spring Festival being held , at Raj Bhawan , Dehradun from 4-5 March 2017. India Post also organized a small stamp exhibition in this festival.

Special cover on 150th Anniversary of Shitalnath Jain Temple, Kolkata

On the 150th anniversary of Kolkata's famous and beautiful Shitalnath Jain Temple, a special cover was issued on 27th Feb. 2017.

On 6th May 1935, a stamp was issued on this temple which was part of a set of Stamps of temples and shrines issued to commemorate the Silver Jubilee of King George V regime.

Bhagavan Sheetalnath Jain temples very artistic and beautiful temple. This temple is also known as the beauty of Bengal. As per a plaque on the gate, Shree Sheetalnath Temple and garden was founded by Rai Budree Das Bahadur, Mukim to HE, The Viceroy, in the year 1867. Thousands of people visit the temple every day. There is no place in the whole of the temple where the artist has not shown a glimpse of his art. There are no words to describe the sculpture of this temple. Different sculptures have given different definition of the artistry of this temple. The  artists and the architects  of this  temple have glorified not only the Jain religion but also Bengal.

3 March - World Wildlife Day

On 20 December 2013, at its 68th session, the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) proclaimed 3 March, the day of signature of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), as UN World Wildlife Day to celebrate and raise awareness of the world’s wild animals and plants. 

World Wildlife Day 2017  is being celebrated  under the theme “Listen to the Young Voices.” Given that almost one quarter of the world’s population is aged between 10 and 24, vigorous efforts need to be made to encourage young people, as the future leaders and decision makers of the world, to act at both local and global levels to protect endangered wildlife. 

The United Nations Postal Administration (UNPA) has issued 12 stamps  featuring twelve endangered species of animals and plants found in Africa in honour of CITES CoP17, or the World Wildlife Conference, which held in Johannesburg, South Africa, from 24 September to 5th October 2016.

Africa is home to a rich diversity of wild animals and plants, including some of the world’s most esteemed species. But, the loss of habitat and poaching driven by illicit trafficking has reduced both fascinating species, like elephant and rhino, and lesser known ones, such as pangolins, in recent years.

The stamps were issued to commemorate CITES CoP17 with 12 species of CITES-listed animals and plants found in Africa, they include cape pangolin, lion, mountain gorilla, and white rhinoceros.

JAITKHAM is a symbol of Satnam religion and its height is 77 meters. On the top of JAITKHAM, unfurling white rectangle flag (PALO) is disseminating the message of truth and peace in the world.

Dandami Maria - 8 January 2017 : Jagdalpur

3.Dandami Maria is the major tribe of Bastar division. On various occasions this tribe dance with the crown of the bison horn on head.
