India Post released a stamp on famous Hindi poet and writer Shri Pratap Narayan Mishra on 24th September 2013.He was born in 1856 at Baijegaon in Unnao District, Uttar Pradesh. He was well versed in Sanskrit, Urdu, Bengali and English.
He was a humorous person and had a lifestyle of his own. He wrote more than 50 books. He was the editor of a monthly magazine named 'Brahmin'. Later his publications were compiled into 'Pratap Narain Mishra Granthawali' by Nagri Pracharini Sabha of Kashi.'Prem Pushpawali', 'Man ki Lehar', 'Trapyantaam', 'Vraidla-swagat', 'Shaiv Sarwasva', 'Hathi Hameer', 'Kali Kautuk', 'Bharat-Durdasha' and 'Kavita Lehari' are some of his famous works.He died in 1894.
