Farmers’ Markets on stamps

 

Here are new beautiful stamps to be issued by US Postal Service featuring fruits and vegetables. The U.S. Postal Service will celebrate the bounty of farmers markets with four new stamps to be released soon. The date of Issue has not been announced yet.

Stalls brimming with fresh produce, shoppers engaged in conversation with vendors, neighbors catching up on news—farmers markets are so much more than just places to buy fruits and vegetables. They are spaces that foster community, support small farms, and boost local economies, and they offer consumers the opportunity to interact directly with the people who produce their food.

The four se-tenant stamps depict a table laden with typical farmers-market fare. The artist chose and arranged the products so that each stamp has a large focal point and each stamp is complete in itself, yet forms a cohesive whole with the entire stamp strip. Most items bear handwritten labels that identify the product and its price.

Special Cover on 30th death anniversary of late Qadir Ali Baig - 3rd June 2014. Qadir Ali Baig was an eminent theatre personality from Hyderabad. Between 1970 and 1984, Qadir Ali was an important figure in the Hyderabad theatre circuit. He formed the New Theatre of Hyderabad (NTH) in 1970 and featured in plays like Sakharam Binder, Adhey Adhoore, Khamosh Adalat Jaari Hai and Kehron Ke Rajhans.
