Teachers' Day is celebrated every year on September 5 in India so as to
commemorate the birth of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishan, the second President of the nation. Dr.Sarvepalli Radhakhrishnan was a philosopher and a great teacher whose contribution towards the Indian education system is remarkable.

HI !

Like every year, 5th September appears on the calendar today and this date used to be very special  when we were in school… Years have passed and now this day has become  special for my kids…It makes me nostalgic and take me back to my memories when we used to celebrate this day in our school…copying our teacher’s style….in the first half hours and then a special programme for teachers in the second half….These are the memories forever…..On this day I remember my teachers who taught not only written in the books but more beyond that…..That is the impression of a teacher on one’s life !!

                                   Happy Teacher's Day  !!  ……

Teachers' Day History

Teachers' Day has been celebrated in India since September 5, 1962. It was first observed on request by the students and friends of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishan, who wanted to celebrate his birthday. Dr.Sarvepalli Radhakrishan suggested that instead of celebrating his birthday, the students should observe September 5 as Teachers' Day.
Since then teacher’s Day celebrations are held all across India on the birthday of Dr.Sarvepalli Radhakrishan.
