Hi ! Here is a magnificent set of four stamps issued by Australia Post on Kingfishers. The stamps feature the most beautiful Kingfisher species found in Australia. The wonderful Maxim Cards have added colors to to this lovely issue and will be very much appreciated by bird lovers and stamp collectors. Australian Kingfishers
Kingfishers comprise a distinctive and spectacular group. There are 95 species worldwide, 10 occurring in Australia. Two species are endemic - the Red-backed Kingfisher and the Laughing Kookaburra - and eight are shared with other countries.
This new stamps issued by Australia Post comprises four denominations, featuring the following Kingfisher species:
- 60c Red-backed Kingfisher (Todiramphus pyrrhopygius )
- $1.20 Sacred Kingfisher (Todiramphus sanctus )
- $1.80 Blue-winged Kookaburra (Dacelo leachii )
- $3.00 Yellow-billed Kingfisher (Syma torotoro )
