Club News

In the Club News I have some recent issues from Canada and Austria. The souvenir Sheet from Canada depicts the famous personalities of the World, photographed by renowned photographer Yousuf Karsh. Its a very beautiful collectable S/s in classic black & white with fine use of Bluish Grey colour. This light & dark contrast has its own beauty in photography. In one of my earlier posts I wrote about stamps on photography issued by Poland. This is another beautiful addition to the collection of those who love photography. Here is another stamp by Austria, issued during Euro-2008 which is unique in some way and a novel collectable item. This stamp was left by me to mention during EURO2008.Please go through the details you will know yourself. In the next part, some news from our readers and a part of the series of Se-tenant stamps of India from the album of Mr. Shrikant Parikh. For this post we thank Mr. Pradip Jain for his contribution.

UEFA EURO 2008
Austria issued the best stamps for this year's Euro -2008 in the world. All the stamps have become very popular among philatelists. One more stamp that shows the Cup against a blue background, and is decorated with four particularly large original Swarovski crystals. It was issued on June 5, 2008 by Austria. The cooperation with the Swarovski company from Wattens in Tyrol, the world & apos;s market leader in the production of synthetic glass gemstones, has been proving its value since the issue of the now legendary Crystal Worlds book of stamps in 2004. The fixing of the gems to the present commemoratives again requires maximum precision. A complex week-long production process produces a uniquely refined stamp.

15. Niket Bubna, Indore

I am Niket Bubna from Indore. I am a Biotechnology undergraduate and aiming to pursue graduate studies in the same field. As for my interest in philately, I believe that a lifetime ain't enough to even have a complete Indian Post-independence collection (gutter pairs, varieties, proofs etc. included) and thus have immense interest in Indian philately. I have been active for the past 9 years and till now I have worked upon the Defence and tourism themes. I also collect traffic light blocks of all the four different markings, sheetlets and max cards. I have a passion to get photographed with post offices in all the places I visit. Collecting printed articles from magazines, newspapers etc about the stamp issues and things related to it also attracts me. This hobby has given immense satisfaction and knowledge, truly making it the King of Hobbies for me. E-Mail : niket511@gmail.com
