The special Cover on Baton Relay, released by HP Postal Circle is priced at Rs 15 with Rs 5 Stamp where as the price of cover released by other circles of India Post is Rs 10. The HP circle said  that the price of the cover has been   increased   due to high  printing cost of the cover.

Frigatebird -an endangered sea bird

Here is a set of new stamp issued by Christmas Island on one of the rarest sea birds, Frigatebird,The highly endangered bird on Christmas Island has been listed in the list of rarest birds under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999. The beautiful set of four stamps with a MS was issued on 17 August 2010.

The rarest native seabird on Christmas Island, the frigatebird, is featured as part of the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Conservation Stamp Collection.

The frigatebird (Fregata andrewsi) is the rarest endemic seabird on Christmas Island, listed as vulnerable under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999. Considerable areas of the frigatebird's former breeding habitat have been cleared, and its current breeding areas are now threatened by the invasive Crazy Ant and pollution from past phosphate mining.

The male frigatebird is all black, except for a small white patch on the belly and brownish areas on the wings. It has a grey-black beak and develops a large, red and inflatable throat sac during courtship. The female has a black head and throat, white breast and belly, a white collar around the neck and a pink beak. The juvenile has a white or russet head and breast, white belly and a pale grey or flesh-pink beak.

Hi ! In today’s post I wish to write about the wonderful stamp issued on Scouting by US Postal Service on 27 July 2010. The design of the stamp has fascinate me so much that I couldn't wait and wanted to write about it immediately. In my opinion this is the best stamp ever designed to feature scouting . The design of the stamp depicts the spirit and outdoor adventure of scouting through a backpacking scout and a large silhouette of a scout surveying the landscape. I highly appreciate the work of its designer, Craig Frazier who designed such a wonderful stamp on Scouting. I am sure it will become one of the most favorite stamps of Stamp Lovers all over the world ! This is just beautiful !! This is all for Today…Till Next Post…Have a Great Time !

Hi ! Here are some cover and cards received by me yesterday…..I have received a FDC from Malaysia with a magnificent MS issued on Traditional Festive Food . Many thanks to Mr. Srini Thevarayan of Klang, Malaysia who sent me these items with lot of care that reached me in best condition. I have receivedd two beautiful Max Cards on Sparrow from Ms N.
