New special Cover on Baton Relay..

Hi ! I am thankful to my Readers who have sent response to my doubt published in the Post of 4th August regarding Lit. class entry in INDIPEX 2011. My special thanks to officials of INDIPEX - 2011 who immediately cleared the doubt with their prompt reply.  For Readers info “ There is no frame allocation in Literature class. so  there is no need to mention number of frames in the entry form for Literature Class.”  The confusion caused due to some communication gap . Coming over to Today’s Post, here is a special cover released on Baton’s relay in Kolkata. The cover is very nice &  well designed featuring heritage Buildings and Culture of West Bengal. But there is mistake in Hindi spelling of the words “Vishesh”, Building, Ka, Sanskriti. It should be noted that cancellation for all the covers is same in which the word relay in Hindi is wrongly spelt. There should not be any spelling mistakes and should be thoroughly checked before printing. My thanks to Mr Ashwani Dubey who sent info about the cover. Mr K. Sridhar from Mangalore shares info about a set of nice stamps issued by Greece on GREEN RENEWABLE ENERGY DEVELOPMENT… The designs of the stamps are based on Children’s paintings ! Greece Hellenic Post on 26-Apr-2010 released a set of 6 Commemorative Stamps on GREEN RENEWABLE ENERGY DEVELOPMENT.  The stamps depict the various forms of in-exhaustible Renewable Energy Sources available in the nature viz., Solar Energy (Euro 0.01), Hydro Power (Euro 0.40), Wind Energy (Euro 0.58),Self contained Man (euro 0.72), Wave Power (euro 2.43) and Bio Energy (euro 2.50).

The right way to exploit and develop these forms of energy sources will reduce the mankind's over dependence on Non-Renewable Energy Sources.  This will give our Planet the chance to breathe and ultimately to survive.

Hi ! It refers to my last post regarding a doubt in entry form for Literature class in INDIPEX 2011. I received a prompt reply from organizing committee to clear this doubt.The doubt caused due to communication gap. For information of Readers and applicants “There is no frame allocation under literature class and the same is to be left blank in the form”. I am thankful for the immediate reply from organizers and clearing the doubt on this matter.

Now a Stamp Festival is being organized by West Delhi Philatelic Society on 25th & 26th Sep 2010 in New Delhi. Such festivals give a chance to the philatelists from different parts to meet and exchange views. I wish all the best to the organizers ! This is all for Today…..Till Next Post….Have a Great Time !

This shall be a first of its kind, exchange cum display of stamps for the collectors and philatelist of Delhi and NCR region. All those who are connected with this hobby and love stamps are welcome from all parts of India.

INDIPEX –2011 – entry in Literature class

Hi !

I wish to share this with all my distinguished readers especially renowned philatelists of India that today I received a phone call from INDIPEX 2011 Secretariat, Dak Bhawan New Delhi regarding my entry form for INDIPEX 2011. I have been informed that my application form is incomplete which I sent for Literature Class & may be rejected. The reason given by the person who called me is that I did not mention No of frames in the entry form. If any one could explain what is menat by No. of frames in Literature Class ??? Usually in the form for National & International Exhibitions, No of frame column is left by the applicant of Literature Class because Literature class entry is not in the form of philatelic exhibit but in the form of Book, Periodical or catalogue. I explained the person that in Literature Class No. of frames are not mentioned. I have earlier filled forms for other National & International Philatelic exhibitions and left this column blank and my entry was never rejected. So I want clear explanation from the organizing committee of INDIPEX 2011 & those philatelists who have applied for Literature Class and also comments from renowned and veteran philatelists of India to explain this doubt for the benefit of all philatelists….

In my opinion there is no sense to mention number of frames in Literature Class. The applicant has to leave the column as the fee charges are for whole entry in Literature class & not for No. of frames . As the books/periodicals are not displayed in frames but are kept in a Reading room or displayed openly on Book stands for reading and not locked up in glass frames...If a person mentions no. of frames what will be the basis of no. of frame ??? I personally feel that this is the lack of knowledge of the staff which has been appointed to check the entry forms.

I hope readers will give their comments on this doubtful part of INDIPEX 2011 entry form. It is not a complaint but a matter of discussion….I am sure all those concerned will be enlightened. This is all for Today....Till Next Post....Have a Nice Time !

I can't help but congratulate Mrs. Jeevan Jyoti, the editor and publisher of the Rainbow e -Stamp Bulletin for unearthing this fantastic and hitherto unheard topic on Music Philately.

Hi ! Here is the recent issue from Pride of India Collection…commemorating Nobel Laureate Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore. It’s a gold plated replica of the stamp. The stamp was originally issued on 1st Oct 1952.
