Kullu Dussehra concludes today !.......
Hi ! I am back to Kullu after the festive week. The festive week ended all over India after Dussehra but in Kullu it concluded today with the closing ceremony of Kullu Dussehra with great celebration. I got a chance to visit the closing ceremony. Here are some photos of the colorful festival which I captured this evening in my camera while watching the great procession of Rath Yatra of Raghunath Ji along with more than 200 local deities of Kullu valley. It is an amazing view to see all local deities covered in colorful clothes together on the famous Dhalpur Ground where the festival is organized. I saw there special tents construted for each deity, where the deity stays for one week from the opening ceromny to the closing of Dussehra. It was a magnificent view to see so many small speical decorated tents for local deities and a very large special tent (Pandal) for Raghunath Ji. The ground is surrounded by a variety of shops, Rides local food and speical stalls of all government departments . It is a big festival which continues for a week. This is all about the festivities of Kullu, the valley of living gods. Coming back to some recent philatelic items issued on 2nd October, celebrating International Day of Non - Violence and 140th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
