Release of Jaydev & Geetgovinda stamps at Bhubaneshwar

 

Hi ! I am back after a break. I could not update my blog  as I was extremely busy with some personal work and was away from Kullu for the last three days. I have received a report from our  distinguished member Mr Ajit Dash about stamp release ceremony of Jaidev and Geet Govinda stamps at Bhubaneshwar with the photographs. Our sincere thanks to Mr Ajit Dash for today’s Post. Well, I am very pleased to publish this news from Bhubaneshar as I have a long association with this beautiful city. I lived there for five years and just love to write that Bhubaneshwar is a place where a variety of glittering, cultural shows and functions are often organized , in fact it is big a centre art and culture. A set of 11 stamps on Jayadev & Gita Govind was released by Smt. Yasodhara Menon, CPMG, Orissa Circle at a State level function held at Jayadev Bhawan, Bhubaneswar on 27.07.2009. The  Folder containing the said stamps was presented to Shri Naveen Patnaik, Chief Minister of Orissa, who was the chief guest of the function. The other dignitaries present on the dais were Shri Prafulla Samal, Minister for Panchayati Raj, Information and Public Relation, Orissa, Shri Prasanna Patsani, Hon’ble MP, Shri Aravind Dhali, Hon’ble MLA and Shri Tarunkanti Mishra,  Development Commissioner and Addl.Chief Secretary, Govt. of Orissa. The function was followed by a spectacular and colourful Orissi dance on Dasavtar. A photographic exhibition on the paintings on jayadev was also inaugurated by the Chief Minister. A Philatelic counter was opened during the function. Inspite of heavy rain Philatelists from different parts of our state and local people turned up on large  scale.
