Special prepaid envelope by Australia
A nice special prepaid envelope issued by Australia Post to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the birth of Louis Braille, inventor of the Braille system of writing for the blind and low-vision community.This special envelope features the phrase “200 Years: Louis Braille” in both the written word and in Braille. Another feature is the use of colours that vision impaired people find easiest to read. First Booklet in Braille Script
Uttarakhand Circle of India Post released a stamp booklet to commemorate bicentenary of birth of Louis Braille on January 4, 2009. This is the only booklet in the world with Hindi inscription in Braille script. The booklet produced in the quantity of 500 is priced at Rs 50.
The booklet is inscribed with the slogan "Vidya Sarvasya Bhushnam" both in Devnagri and Braille script. The booklet was printed at Central Braille Press, Dehradun. This is the world's first ever booklet printed in Hindi Braille. Earlier Canada Post printed a booklet with English Braille inscriptions in April 2008.World's first Information Sheet in Braille (issued for the Calcutta Blind School stamp) was also printed at Central Braille Press Dehradun.
