Teacher's Day is observed on 5 September in India every year to mark the importance of teachers's in our lives and to honour Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.
Teacher's Day commemorates the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan who was a scholar, recipient of Bharat Ratna, first Vice President and second President of independent India. He was born on 5 September, 1888. He was a grand advocate of edification, and was the distinguished envoy, academician, and India’s President, above all a great Teacher.
In Philippines national teachers celebration is one month long celebration that starts from 5th september.Philippine Postal Corporation issues a special commemorative stamp in this month to revitalize the image of teacher and to spread a respect for the teaching preofession in the Philippine Society.
