In honor of the Philippine's third Miss Universe, the Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) is set to release limited edition stamps this April 2016, featuring its very own Miss Universe 2015 Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach. The stamp will feature a photo of Pia when she was crowned Miss Universe last December 20, 2015 in Las Vegas, and will come in two versions.
Pageant site Sash Factor reported that PHLPost will issue 101,000 pieces of the regular stamps which will cost P15 per piece, while 5,000 pieces of souvenir sheets will be released, which will be worth P40 per piece.
PHLPost issues special stamps in honor of Filipinos who have made exemplary achievements in different fields and have brought pride to the country. Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach is a Filipino-German actress, model and beauty pageant titleholder. She is the Philippine representative for the 2015 Miss Universe Pageant.
The stamp, which shows Wurtzbach’s winning moment in the pageant in her royal blue Albert Andrada gown, will feature a special embellishment called “tactile glittery texture embossed” to “enhance the important look and feel of the stamps”. The glitters are placed on Wurtzbach’s crown.
