Hi Readers ! In Today's Post I am going to show you here new stamps issued by Gibraltar on 15 September 2008. These issues are so beautiful that I must say that Gibraltar too has a wonderful Postal Administration which brings out such magnificent stamps and Miniature sheets. I have received a beautiful photograph from our member Mr. Jagannath Mani who recently won a Bronze Medal in Olympex-2008 held in Beijing during Olympics for his exhibit on Olympic Games. This photograph is very special as it is showing the three generations of Philatelic enthusiasts. What a lovely photograph with a philatelic smile showing enthusiasm of this wonderful hobby in all age groups! All of these are the winners at Olympex-2008. Thank you Mr. Mani for this nice photograph ! It is the season of Philatelic Exhibitions in India. I wrote about Bhubaneshwar exhibition in my last Post. Now I have a news from Karntaka where a Phhilatelic Exhibition is going to be held in Bangalore. It is a festive time and also the time of Philatelic Exhibitions round the country. NASA 50th Anniversary
Gibraltar celebrates NASA’s achievements over the last 50 years by issuing a miniature sheet with four stamps depicting one of the most loved and memorable moments of the 20th Century when the Apollo 11 mission set off to land the first man on the moon.As NASA’s new goal is to have astronauts back on the moon by 2020 what better way to pay tribute than to recall the last trip! Interestingly, the agency has scheduled unmanned missions between 2008 and 2011 to map out landing sites and to find a spot for a permanent moon base.
