New stamps on Flowers and Floral paintings....

Australia Post issued a set of five stamps to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV). It features five paintings by Australian artists drawn from the collection of the NGV.

This stamp set features a selection of floral still life paintings by famous artists of Australia.

A bunch of flowers by Nora Heysen (1911-2003)
Camellias by Arnold Shore (1897-1963)
Fruit and flowers by Vida Lahey (1882-1968)
Still life, Zinnias by Roy de Maistre (1894-1968)
A cottage bunch by Hans Heysen (1877-1968).

The decorative gutter strip incorporates tubes of artist paint as graphic elements.

Maxim cards

The maxim card set brings in to sharper detail these striking floral arrangement paintings.

Hi ! Here are some nice stamps full of aroma of spices used in Malaysian food. This wonderful set of five stamps was issued by Pos Malaysia on 28 march 2011. The well known spices  Cinnamon, Turmeric, Cardamom, Clove and red chili are part of spices used in Malaysia cuisine. I also share here MS on Spices of India issued by India Post on 29 April 2009. A special cover was released  by Dr Sahadev Sahoo, eminent philatelist of Orissa, on the occasion of Silver Jubilee year of CIFA, in presence of former Directors of CIFA Dr S. D. Tripathy, Dr S.P.Ayyar, Dr. K.Janaki Ram, Dr. Niranjana Sarangi, and present Director Dr A.P.Sharma, CIFRI, Kolkata. Dr. T. Adhya, Director, CRRI and Dr. A. E. Eknath, Director, CIFA. CIFA Scientists were present on the august occasion.

Philatelists of Eastern India Philatelists Association Mr Shanti Swarup Rath, Mr Debasish Mitra, Mr A.K.Rout, Mr B. Biswal, Mr Shakeel Ahmed and Mr Saroj Kar were present on the occasion. New Stamps on Butterflies..

 

Date of of Issue – 1 April 2011

 

The Isle of Man Post Office is issuing today a  Butterfly Collection of eight stamps featuring species that have been selected not only for their beauty but also to highlight some uniquely Manx aspects of their lives.

 

In the Isle of Man 19 species of butterfly may be seen during the year – at different times and places. The World Wildlife Fund logo appears on three of the stamps and on the special Souvenir Sheetlet to celebrate the 50^th anniversary year of the organisation.
