Kerala Postal Circle of India Post released a Special Cover on 28-07-2013 on the occasion of Death Centenary of Servant of God Mother Eliswa 1913-2013.
Mother Eliswa was born on 15th October 1831 at Ochanthuruth in Ernakulam District, Kerala. She was a valiant woman who left behind the legacy of a religious culture for women which was unfamiliar in her time – 19th Century – in Kerala. She was not only the foundress of religious congregation but also of the first school for girls, boarding houses, orphanages attached to the school for girl students. It was one of the first women educational reformative movements in Kerala. She was taken to heavenly abode on 18th July 1913 at the age of 82 years.
