Women of Distinction
This set to be issued by Royal Mail on 14 October 2008 depicts some famous British women , such as Marie Stopes who took the lead on family planning and Barbara Castle, who championed equal pay for women. Others are less familiar, but equally worthy of inclusion: Eleanor Rathbone, who fought to pay the family allowance to women, Civil Rights activist Claudia Jones, who worked tirelessly to wipe out discrimination, Millicent Garrett Fawcett, an early campaigner for votes for women and Elizabeth Garrett Anderson, the first female doctor.

Christmas 2008

The other set to be issued by Royal Mail on 4 November 2008 will commemorate Chistmas 2008. On the 2nd Class stamps are the stereotypically burly bullies from Cinderella, the Ugly Sisters, who are joined, as if by magic, on the 1st Class stamps by Aladdin's Genie. Peter Pan's Captain Hook and Snow White's Wicked Queen are seen in typically evil mood on 50p and 81p stamps

Virtual Magnifying Glass
This is a very useful program for anybody who wants to Zoom in images of Stamps found either on their computer or while surfing on the internet. It is a free open source cross platform magnifying tool. It is simple, easy to use and can be customised. It has resizable and draggable window and has adjustable magnification powersettings. Unlike most similar programmes,it does not open a seperate window for the magnification but instead puts a movable magnifying glass on the sreen. It can be downloaded from http://magnifier.sourceforge.net/
