Brihadeeswarar temple cards by India Post...








India Post, Central Region (TN) has issued a set of 3 picture postcards to commemorate millennium celebrations of the Brihadeeswarar temple at Thanjavur. Set of three cards is priced at Rs. 15 (Rs. 5 each). An advertisement for the forthcoming INDIPEX 2011 Exhibition with logo is also placed on all three cards. The spelling of Pragati Maidan given in the advertisement is not correct .

World’s First Airmail…

On Feb. 18th 2011, the Centenary of the world's first Airmail will be celebrated. India’s noted aero philatelist Mr Pradip Jain has recently donated the 1911 World's First Airmail Flown carried cover to the Smithsonian Postal Museum which is supposed to be the world's best postal / philatelic museum showcasing the treasurer of philately world and is regularly visited by thousands of visitors .

In today’s Post, here are some beautiful Maxim Cards prepared by our distinguished member Mr Vipan Kumar Thakur of Chandigarh. Mr Thakur has prepared a variety of Maxim Cards using recent stamps of pigeon and sparrow. Another set of Maxim Card is given here, has been prepared by Boben J E of  Trivandrum. All the cards are just wonderful featuring the lovely birds. The selection of  designs of all the cards is very good showing clear cancellation which is an important element of a Maxim Card. Birds of Bangladesh..

Hi ! Here is an extremely beautiful set of stamps issued by Bangladesh Post featuring four lovely common birds of Bangladesh – House Sparrow, Red Munia,Spotted Dove and common Mynah. Bangladesh Post has featured them on Miniature sheet and sheetlet. These are the birds which are also commonly found in India . This beautiful set will be admired by all bird lovers and stamp collectors as bird is one of the most favorite themes of collectors all over the world. The number of house sparrow has decreased considerably in recent years so it has become favorite of all and collectors look for the stamps on house sparrows !!
